A conversation in my office recently consisted of the question of how a person could spend $10,000 on a party. I laughed and said I could do that easily. Easily.
Later that night, the chef and I traded ideas on how a person could spend that kind of money on a party. Before I could say anything about what I would do, he instantly (and I mean instantly, no thought about that shit at all) said he'd hire Aerosmith. They'd be at least $10,000 right?
Who does that?
Minutes later he saw a commercial for the Def Leopard, Poison, Cheap Trick tour and in no uncertain terms said he'd be going.
Again, did I miss a decade? What the....? With some thought to that, who doesn't love a party with Unskinny Bop playing in the background? Wait for it...me.I don't want Unskinny Bop playing anywhere, but I have to admit (goodness, really?) that I loved, loved, loved Every Rose Has Its Thorn.
You know you're with me!
Given that this is my 100th post, I think some celebrating is in order. Some cake, some champagne, some light heartedness...don't we need this in these hard economic times?
Someone needs to have a party - wait, it might be me. I think my house could use some warming, don't you?
It's Friday, so let's have a cocktail:
Blood Orange Cocktail
2 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Simple Syrup
Blood Orange Juice
Lemon - just a dash
Shake hard with ice. Serve up in a martini glass. Drink and enjoy.
Just like every night has its dawn...every rose has its thorn, yea it does...
