Nah...I think not. This week, as most weeks, I'm hitting the town. That said, a blog post is applicable to many people I know:
I think it's very, very important to take this type of thing seriously. I've eaten out with the little man from the time he turned 3 days old. Many of the rules, Restaurant Whore indicates work. I will admit that for a time, I ordered and the small boy's behavior demanded we leave immediately and we did. I often asked for food to go, walked outside, and enforced rules to no end.
It works. My kid eats anywhere and everywhere, will try any food, discuss the finer points of cheese and wine, as well as critiqe the atmosphere. He's 7 and is better behaved than some adults. Not bragging, just pointing out that a bit of discipline (mine and his) goes a long ways.
He and I eat at the bar at Nopa, or at Zuni, or at Berretta just as comfortably as we would a chain restaurant. Fear of penalty and a love of good food goes a long ways.
